Macbeth is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare that tells the story of a brave Scottish warrior named Macbeth. At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is loyal and respected, but everything changes after three witches predict that he will become king. Driven by ambition and pushed by his wife, Lady Macbeth, he decides to kill King Duncan to take the throne. As Macbeth gains power, he becomes more violent and paranoid, committing more crimes to protect his position. The play shows how ambition and greed can corrupt a person and lead to guilt, madness, and destruction.
